Zylmark generates additional versions of the proposed name to help look beyond an exact-text match. Review which variations are selected before starting the search. Automated variations can improve preliminary coverage, but no generated list can guarantee that every legally relevant variation has been searched.

Yes. Open the results filters, select Countries, and choose the countries or regional sources relevant to your plans. The filter narrows the international results already returned; it does not expand the databases searched. See the current list of supported databases.

Depending on the source and available record, a result may show the mark, similarity value, status, trademark classes, jurisdiction or protection area, and application or registration numbers. Review important matches in the underlying official record because record details and status can change.

The similarity value helps you prioritize records that may resemble the searched name. It is not a legal conclusion, a registration probability, or proof that two marks conflict. Goods, services, wording, sound, meaning, commercial impression, and other facts may all matter.

The USPTO recommends searching for potentially conflicting marks before filing. A broader clearance search may also include state databases and internet use.

Yes. Dead federal records do not have the same active status as live registrations or applications, but the name may still be in use and the record can reveal relevant history. Multiple dead or abandoned records for the same or similar wording may also indicate a recurring obstacle, such as refusals based on an earlier registered mark or opposition from another rights holder. Review each record individually because applications can become abandoned for many unrelated reasons.
